The talked about “beefy” patch that has been sent for approval to Microsoft and Sony in the latter half of the first week of May has now been confirmed.
Ronnie 2K has confirmed on his twitter account earlier today that the v1.2 patch is due out on Wednesday May 18th 2011. Presumably it will be out sometime around 5 am edt for the xbox 360. The PC will also get it on that day, as for a time schedule one could only guess. Ronnie confirming it should be enough to get most people excited for it. The PS3 patch will be out once Sony finishes dealing with their PSN issues.
It should be interesting to see exactly what has been addressed for this patch. This was to be a “beefy” patch and should hopefully fix a lot of the glaring bugs in this game. Ronnie claims to release the patch notes the day of the patch. He hasn’t ruled out the possibility to releasing them earlier however.
I will update this page with the patch notes listed when they become available.
UPDATE: The patch notes have been released on MLB 2K11’s facebook page thanks to Ronnie.
Here is the complete list
Notable fixes are,
– Fixed bug where robbing a HR counted as both an out and a HR
– Addressed issue with pitcher fatigue in franchise mode
– Both simulated injuries and in-game injuries occur with less frequency in all modes
There has been a lot of complaints that the new patch has slowed down the batting speed in online games. I haven’t personally experienced it because i don’t play online. I’m strictly a franchise guy.
This patch has seemed to fix a lot of the glaring issues i brought up in my initial thoughts. Looking forward to starting my real franchise now.
